1. Point-to-multipoint equipment

It is a solution which enables the provision of broadband services and enables a quick construction of stable and advanced networks – Creation of infrastructure for the provision of the “last mile” services.

Each solution consists of two parts:

  • Access module AP – which is used in mini based stations
  • Subscriber module SM – customer solution

The company Motorola offers a fairly wide range of solutions that make it possible to build a network based on the point-to-multipoint solution.
It enables the user to choose the most optimal hardware according to: application, bandwidth, frequency, power characteristics and possibility of future expansion.

1.1. PMP100

 

PMP100 is a solution which enables the construction of point-to-multipoint networks in the unlicensed bandwidths 2,4GHz and 5,4GHz.
The access modules are available in two versions – Standard and Advantage. One module allows to cover the area with a beam width of 60st.
The structure of a base station consisting of six modules allows to cover the area of 16 km. Canopy system in point-to-multipoint configuration, enables the transmission speed up to 14 Mb/s.

SMs are available in three different versions: Lite, Standard, Advantage.

  • Lite – 512 kb/s
  • Standard – 7 Mb/s
  • Advantage – 14 Mb/s

1.2. PMP400

 

PMP400 is a solution which enables the construction of point-to-multipoint networks in the unlicensed bandwidth 5,4 GHz.

PMP400 is using an OFDM modulation, which enables the usage of this technology even in cases, where it is not possible to maintain the clear line of sight (LOS):

  • nLOS – line of sight, Fresnel zone is partially covered
  • NLOS – no line of sight, Fresnel zone is completely covered

Bandwidth of this solution has been improved up to 21 Mb/s.

1.3. PMP430

 

The radio system point-to-multipoint, which operates in the unlicensed bandwidth 5,4GHz.
In contrast to the previous radio systems (PMP100 and PMP400), it enables higher speed of signal transmission in a shorter time delay.
This solution is ideal for networks where the quality of service (so-called. QoS) is of great importance.

This system is perfectly suited for those environments where line of sight is completely or partially covered:

  • nLOS – line of sight, Fresnel zone is partially covered
  • NLOS – no line of sight, Fresnel zone is completely covered

Transmission speed obtained with this solution is up to 40 Mb/s.
Land cover using one module AP is 90 degrees, and the range is up to 64km.
Such a large range is achieved by using a LENS antenna or a reflector for subscriber module.

PMP430 system is compatible with previous solutions. Access modules AP may cooperate with PMP400 subscriber modules.

1.4. PMP320

 

The system enables the production of point-to-multipoint solutions in the licensed band of 3.3 to 3.8GHz.
It is compatible with the WiMAX 802.16e standard. This solution is based on the OFDM modulation and MIMO technology.
This allows up to 45 Mb/s data transfer rate per sector in a radio channel width of 10 MHz.
PMP320 enables stable operation with: clear line of sight – LOS, partially blocked line of sight – nLOS or completely blocked line of sight – NLOS.
The area coverage is up to 40 km.

With an AP-module, the surface is covered with a beam width of 90 degrees. Omnidirectional coverage is obtained by the use of three modules.

Available frequencies:

  • PMP33320 – 3,3 to 3,4 GHz
  • PMP33520 – 3,4 to 3,6 GHz (including 3,5 GHz)
  • PMP36320 – 3,6 to 3,8 GHz (including 3,65 GHz)

Each solution has a possibility of setting four different beam widths: 3,5/5/7/10MHz.

2. Point-to-point equimpent

A dedicated solutions which are enabling creation of the wireless, point-to-point connections. Motorola offers a wide range of solutions for a reliable and efficient network connections.
The suggested solutions are working in the licensed bands 5,4 GHz and also 11, 18, 23 and 26 GHz.

2.1. PTP300

 

Wireless radio connections which operate in the unlicensed band 5,4 GHz (and 5,8 GHz – not available in Poland).
The maximum throughput of this wireless bridge is 25 Mb/s. PTP300 series have a high sensitivity and output power in its class, resulting in a wide operation range (up to 250km).

The PTP300 solution is available in two variants:

  • Model Integrated – solution based on integrated antennas of dual polarization, ideal for environments with large amounts of interference and obstacles.
  • Model Conectorized – solution based on modules of “Model Integrated”, which uses external, high-gain antennas. This type of solution is ideal for long distances and unfavorable conditions.

The PTP300 solutions is based on iOFDM modulation, which additionallu utilizes MIMO technology.
This solution makes it possible to transmit the signal in different frequencies or lower frequency ranges, providing improved spectral efficiency, immunity to multipath propagation and dropouts.
Protection: Motorola Software for the wireless bridge enables the communication with its counterpart on the other side, additionally encrypting the transmission. 128 and 256 bit AES encryption can also be used.

2.2. PTP500

PTP500 series have a high sensitivity and output power in its class, resulting in a wide operation range (up to 250km).

  • Model Integrated – solution based on integrated antennas of dual polarization, ideal for environments with large amounts of interference and obstacles. Throughput of this variant is 105 Mb/s.

Wireless radio connections which operate in the unlicensed band 5,4 GHz (and 5,8 GHz – not available in Poland).

2.4. PTP800

 

PTP800 is a point-to-point solution that operate in licensed frequency ranges of 11, 18, 23 and 26 GHz, with throughput up to 368 MB/s (full duplex transmission). The bandwidths of this solution varies from 7 to 56 MHz.
The PTP800 system is available with base throughput of 10 Mb/s. Higher throughput is unlocked by the purchase of the corresponding software key.
This solution enables an easy increase of the available throughput with increasing demands of the user.
The PTP800 solutions is using modulations from QPSK to 256QAM. Data transmission is encrypted with the use of the AES algorithm.
